Eric Steele has been appointed as United's new goalkeeping coach.
The former Aston Villa, Manchester City and Blackburn Rovers coach becomes the permanent replacement for Tony Coton, who retired earlier this year through injury.
Sir Alex Ferguson revealed last week that he and his fellow coaches had identified a suitable successor, after a thorough search for the right replacement.
Academy goalkeeping coach Richard Hartis had temporarily taken Coton's place, but now Steele takes on the role permanently in time for the start of the 2008/09 season.
